Welcome To The Gisborne RDA
Hazard identification and control.
As a visitor/ rider you must be of your own personal safety and the safety of those in your care. Please note the precautions and rules below and sign the register.
- All persons entering the grounds must report to the manager.
- All persons must follow the directions of management and staff.
- The speed limit for vehicles is 20km.
- There is no access to the horses without permission.
- All children must be supervised.
- Paths and terrain at the facility may be slippery or uneven.
- Some fences may be electric.
- There are open bodies of water, such as troughs.
- Closed in footwear must be worn.
- Helmets (provided) must be worn when riding or handling the horses.
- Horses can kick, stand on or bite people.
- Do not walk close behind horses. (Unsupervised).
The Gisborne RDA is committed to providing a safe work place and facility for service users. The Gisborne RDA will provide supervision to reduce the risk of accident or injury, but are unable to eliminate these or other risks involved in participating in riding activities.
- Parents/caregivers are responsible for supervising children outside of their allocated activity time.
- The Gisborne RDA provides no less than ONE supervisor to five children/ clients /riders.

- In case of an emergency ( Fire , flood, earthquake)
- Please leave the building, calmly at your nearest EXIT.
- Assemble in the lower car park area, do not leave this area or return to the buildings until cleared to do so by the safety warden.
- Duty safety warden will: Call 111 and check all buildings are clear.
